If you don’t live in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam, you probably aren’t playing the Ragnarok Online 2 open beta at the moment. However, Gravity Co. do have plans to make the game available in North America and the Philippines in the months to come, so let’s get caught up with the game’s job system.
There are five main jobs available in Ragnarok Online 2, each with its own skills sets and functions—Swordsman, Magician, Archer, Thief and Acolyte. Upon reaching level 25, you’ll be able to select their respective advanced jobs to grow your character further. Here’s the breakdown of job progression:
Swordsman –> Knight/Warrior
Magician –> Wizard/Sorcerer
Archer –> Ranger/Beast Master
Thief –> Assassin/Rogue
Acolyte –> Priest/Monk
Here are screenshots, courtesy of 4Gamer, taken from the Korean version of Ragnarok Online 2. Note that these are from a few months ago, so they may not be entirely representative of the build being used for the English open beta.

New to Ragnarok Online 2 is the Dual Life system, which allows you to take on a second job, known as a “profession job”. Profession jobs affect your crafting skills, and there are four of these available—Chef, Alchemist, Blacksmith and Artisan. Crafting skills will allow you to create items that can be traded or sold.
