Square Enix has announced a new Theatrhythm game: Theatrhythm Final Bar Line. It was first revealed at the September 2022 Nintendo Direct, with an extended announcement trailer released later the same day. The Final Fantasy-based rhythm game will release on February 16, 2023.
Check out the announcement trailer below.
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line will feature 385 playable songs pulled from the entirety of the Final Fantasy series. Some of the music confirmed to be in the game comes from FFXIV, FFVII Remake, FF Type-0, and even the FFVII Advent Children movie. The songs are put into categories based on which entry they’re from, allowing players to experience the series through its music. A local multiplayer mode, called Pair Mode, will allow 2 players to complete stages together. There will also be a 4-player Online Multi-Battle mode.
DLC was also announced for Final Bar Line. The DLC will be sold in parts and will add a total of 90 new songs from other Square Enix series. Music from games such as Octopath Traveler, Chrono Trigger, Legend of Mana, and Live A Live will be included in the parts. The NieR and SaGa series will also have songs that appear as DLC.
Two Digital Deluxe editions of the game will be available, both coming with 27 exclusive songs. The Digital Deluxe Edition will include DLC Season Pass 1, while the Premium Digital Deluxe Edition will include all of the game’s DLC Season Passes. Those who purchase the Premium edition will have a total of 502 playable songs in their game.
Theatrhythm Final Bar Line will release on February 16, 2023, for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Pre-orders are available now.
