A rumor had appeared online on October 31, 2018, showing up on places like Reddit and suggesting that the P.T. demo offering folks a taste of the canceled Silent Hills had been updated and made unplayable. However, Konami has issued an official statement to a number of outlets confirming that is not the case. There is no new update to the P.T. teaser that would make it unplayable. (Thanks, Dualshockers!)

Here is Konami’s official statement about the Silent Hills P.T. teaser:

After our investigation we can confirm that there have been no Konami or PlayStation Network (PSN) update that would have affected or prevent [sic] access to the game.

As a reminder, Silent Hills was announced in 2014 for the PlayStation 4 and received the interactive P.T. demo. That very teaser for the Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro game, which would have starred Norman Reedus and had input from Junji Ito, was pulled from the PlayStation Store in 2015 when the game was canceled. When it was gone, it was really gone, as people who had initially downloaded it couldn’t get it again from their Download Lists.
