The Prince of All Cosmos Makes A Cameo On Oblivion Island

Oblivion Island is the place where forgotten childhood toys gather when kids tire of them. Somehow, the Prince of All Cosmos or at least a toy of the Prince resides on the island.

Oblivion Island: Kanata and the Rainbow Mirror is like a mix of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Landstalker. Each area is an isometric 3D room containing objects like spring loaded platforms and deranged octopus toys to fight. You tap on enemies, just like the Phantom Hourglass, to whack them.

How does the Prince of All Cosmos fit in? Kanata, the protagonist, can command toys like the Prince to attack. Players do this by clicking on the Toys button and then drawing a path for the Prince to walk on. He’ll punch anything that gets in his way and disappear after a set amount of time.

I didn’t pay much attention to Oblivion Island: Kanata and the Rainbow Mirror until I tried a demo, but Namco Bandai seemed to create something that’s a step above the standard anime license game.
