Some companies have been in a giving mood recently, due to the current global climate and pressing issues that have come up in 2020. One that already opened its pockets once to make a relatively small, in terms of how much it likely makes over all, donation on June 4, 2020. Now, the latest The Pokemon Company International charity support announcement on Twitter confirmed it will match one of its partners to the tune of a minimum $5 million.
The Pokemon Company International initially announced it would donate $100,000 to Black Lives Matter and another $100,000 to the NAACP. That confirmation came after Niantic, the partner company behind Pokemon GO, promised a minimum $5 million from the virtual Pokemon GO Fest 2020 ticket sales would go to a fund for Black gaming and AR creators’ projects and to US nonprofits. Following that, The Pokemon Company International stepped up its own commitment.
Here is the latest The Pokemon Company International charity statement. While it doesn’t have a list of the organizations and funds it will be supporting yet, it specifically noted ones geared toward “improving the lives of children with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
Following Pokemon GO Fest 2020, The Pokemon Company group is joining its partners at Niantic and will also be donating a minimum of $5 million to nonprofit organizations around the world.
The Pokemon Company group donations will go toward improving the lives of children with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
In our ongoing commitment to the Black community, this will include organizations supporting education and mentorship opportunities for Black children.
People may want to keep an eye out on the company’s official Twitter account or website for the list of charities that will be supported.
