The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Will Return in January

The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya is going to appear worldwide in November 2020. But that’s not the only light novel entry coming back. Yen Press committed to a reprint of the whole series. Now, we have a timeframe. Things will all kick off in January 2021, when The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya returns to stores.

Yen Press’ Twitter announcement offered a general timeline for the paperback releases of the older novels and confirmed they will all use the Japanese original cover art for the first time.

Based on the tweets, here is the timeline for the first few volumes. Yen Press noted that more books in the series will be available between April and May 2021, followed by The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya in June 2021.

  • January 2021: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
  • February 2021: The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya
  • March 2021: The Boredom of Haruhi Suzumiya

Details about The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya’s retail release came up during the announcement too. A hardcover version will be available, according to one tweet. Also, Yen Press said it will have a version of the latest novel with a cover that matches its original run of Haruhi Suzumiya books.

The Intuition of Haruhi Suzumiya will launch on November 25, 2020 worldwide, though Yen Press’ version will originally only be available digitally. The reprint of the previous novels will appear starting in January 2021 with the return of the first book, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
