The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story Officially Revealed

Mageseeker League of Legends Story Reveal

Riot revealed The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story, the latest from the Riot Forge project. Riot Forge’s goal is to give different League of Legends Champions their time in the spotlight through individual games developed by third-party studios. It will launch in Spring 2023.

The Mageseeker will see players take on the role of Sylas, an escaped mage on a quest for vengeance in Demacia, a kingdom within the land of Runeterra that forbids the use of magic. The gameplay is set to be a top-down pixel art action RPG, although Riot only showed glimpses of it so far in the 2023 Year Ahead trailer.

The Mageseeker is being developed by Digital Sun, who previously developed Moonlighter, a similar action RPG about a shopkeeper who wants to become a hero. Based on the snippets of gameplay seen in the trailer, The Mageseeker will draw similar gameplay from Digital Sun’s previous title.

This reveal comes alongside news of Convergence and Song of Nunu, also under the Riot Forge label, and follows the previously released titles Ruined King and Hextech Mayhem.

The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story is set to release in Spring 2023 for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC via Steam, GOG and Epic.
