The Length Of Your Legs Affects Dragon’s Dogma’s Combat [Update]

So, “DD” was for Dragon’s Dogma after all! Capcom just announced the game as an action title that has you controlling a party of three setting out to track down and defeat a mysterious dragon.

Along your quest, Capcom say, you’ll run into other giant beasts that you’ll have to defeat using teamwork. Dragon’s Dogma’s combat sounds rather detailed; factors like the weight of your weapon, the material of your armour, and the length of your legs will play a role in how battles will be fought. You’ll take on monsters like goblins, griffins and dragons.

It seems there will also be an emphasis on exploration, as Dragon’s Dogma is an “open-world” game. One of the bullet points is for “hundreds of fully-voiced NPCs”. Capcom say the game is being developed by the creators of Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4.

Like Resident Evil 5 and many of Capcom’s other high-definition games, Dragon’s Dogma is being developed using their MT Framework engine. The game is currently scheduled for release in 2012 on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
