The biggest thing about this The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening soundtrack release is likely how it will be a four-disc set: two will contain the music from the remake and two discs will serve as the first official release of the Game Boy version’s soundtrack. This will bring the soundtrack up to a total of 205 tracks. These four discs will be collected into two CD cases, each featuring the box art for the respective version of the game.

Additionally, one of the bonus tracks includes the vocal version of ‘Ballad of the Wind Fish’ that was exclusive to the TV commercials for the game. First-print editions come with a neat little cover with the eight instruments to collect both discs in.

While songs have mostly just been re-arranged for the remake, there are some extra additions to the The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening soundtrack–the excellent music tracks that can be heard in the remake’s new Chamber Dungeons feature. Additionally, the overworld and Tal Tal Heights’ theme were re-arranged several times as different tracks that play depending on your current progress through the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is available on the Nintendo Switch. The game’s soundtrack will release on March 18, 2020.
