Namco Bandai and From Software have released an trailer for Armored Core V just ahead of E3. Here’s a look:
Armored Core V has virtual territory wars. As long as your console is connected to the Internet, you’ll carry out lengthy team battles to fight over territory, and defend it once it’s under your control. Some of these missions can take up to an hour to complete, but if you log on in the middle of a battle your teammates are already participating in, you’ll be able to chat with them while you wait for it to end.
There are also over 70 simpler missions for players that don’t have the patience for drawn out online battles. The online mode of the game will also spill over into the game’s single player mode. Even if all players of a team go offline, the battle will continue in singleplayer mode.
From Software have included over 500 parts to customize your mechs with in Armored Core V. You can view concept art for some of these here. Namco Bandai will release Armored Core V on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 20th in Japan, and early 2012 in the U.S.
