The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth came out on October 31st and added a ton of new content to the original game. But, according to the community of players, about half of what is promised on the Steam Store page is missing.

Or is it? Edmund McMillen, the game’s creator, and Tyrone Rodriguez of Nicalis, who ported The Binding of Isaac to consoles, have both been hinting at a huge secret hidden away inside Afterbirth.

Funnily enough, due to backlash, McMillen had to clarify that he hadn’t advertised the game’s features falsely on Steam, saying that “all the features on the steam page are true minus one.. but not the one you are thinking.”

This has spawned the community to come together and try to uncover whatever it is that’s hiding away inside Afterbirth. There’s even a live feed of people posting updates on their investigations over on Reddit. The theory goes that finding this secret will start to unlock the rest of the content in Afterbirth that so far hasn’t been seen.

It’s thought that McMillen did this as a direct response to what happened when The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth came out last year – in short, it was datamined, and what was supposed to take months for fans to uncover only took days.
