Both the Evercade and Evercade VS will get another collection of games packed into a cartridge. The Bitmap Brothers Collection 1 will launch in September 2021 for the Evercade handheld and be compatible with the new console. It gives people a chance to play five classic games from the developers.
For those unfamiliar with the developer, this means people get a collection of games that are either shooters or are inspired by certain sports. The original Speedball, a soccer-like game, is the oldest one in the collection. (It originally came out in 1988.) Its follow-ups Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe and Speedball 2100 also both appear. As for shooters, there’s the shoot’em up Xenon 2: Mega Blast and the run-and-gun style The Chaos Engine. (The original Xenon and The Chaos Engine 2 are not included in this initial compilation.)
Here’s a trailer looking at the cartridge and showing how The Bitmap Brothers Collection 1 games will run on an Evercade. While short, a quick clip of each of the five games appears.
The Bitmap Brothers Collection 1 will appear for the Evercade in September 2021. When the Evercade VS, a home console version of the system, launches in November 2021, this cartridge will be among those compatible with it.
