Tekken 8 Temporary and Indefinite Account Suspensions Announced

At the beginning of March 2024, Katsuhiro Harada promised bans for Tekken 8 cheaters, and now there’s news about a round of these account suspensions. Now the official social media account brought up temporary and indefinite punishments and promised more will come in April 2024.

The announcement specified that this wave of Tekken 8 account suspensions is due to other players’ in-game reports. It also mentioned that things like cheats and use of glitches, which Harada specifically discussed, were targeted. Things like rage quits and rank boosting also came up. However, it didn’t specify what sorts of punishments would be assigned to which types of misconduct.

We’ll learn even more about Tekken 8 this week. Chief Director Katsuhiro Harada, Director Kohei Ikeda, Producer Michael Muray, and Marketing Producer Yasuda Esports will discuss Eddy Gordo on March 29, 2024. Eddy will be the first DLC character. He’s expected to appear in Spring 2024, though it is possible we get a more definite release date at that presentation. It is very likely we’ll get to see more gameplay footage of the character in action and learn more about how he’ll play compared to his appearances in past installments.

Tekken 8 is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
