Warriors: Legends of Troy — or Troy Musou, if you prefer — is a Western-developed entry in Tecmo Koei’s Warriors (or Musou) series of games, set during the Trojan War.

At the Tokyo Game Show last week, Tecmo Koei announced that the game would be released in North America sometime in “early 2011.”

Legends of Troy is in development at Koei Canada and, like Samurai Warriors 3 before it, includes an online mode. Troy, however, lets you go at it in 4-player co-op or competitive and adds a few other features on top, such as being able to equip shields on horses and using them to bash enemies. You can also use weapons dropped by your opponents.

Tecmo have been experimenting with their Musou-style games a fair bit in recent years. The last significant departure from the series’ typically historical setting was Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage.
