Tecmo, Grasshoper and Nintendo team up for Fatal Frame

Rei ~ Tsukihami no Kamen ~ (Zero ~ Mask of the Lunar Eclipse) isn’t exactly new news. The subtitle is, but Tecmo announced they were working on a Fatal Frame game for the Wii months ago. No plot details or gameplay mechanics have been announced, but I can’t imagine a Wii version of Fatal Frame without pointing at the screen to take pictures of ghouls.

Perhaps, more notable is Nintendo is publishing the title. This isn’t the first time Nintendo has published a Tecmo game. In Europe, Nintendo of Europe brought Super Swing Golf out under the name of Pangya! Golf with Style. However, Temco is split with second party development. Nintendo is helping out with Fatal Frame while Microsoft is helping with Ninja Gaiden. Sony hasn’t snagged anything, but looking over Tecmo’s legacy franchises there isn’t much left.
