The show is held every year in February, but was postponed to Summer due to the early coronavirus outbreak in Asia. Last month, the organizers announced that the show would be instead held in June from the 25th to the 28th, but with the coronavirus still continuing to be a major issue, they made the decision to cancel the show instead. This is partially to comply with the latest rules issued by the Taiwan Center of Disease Control, who have announced that any and all indoor events with 100 attendees are to be suspended, and is also the result of consultation with the exhibitors.

All aspects of Taipei Game Show 2020 (B2C Zone, B2B Zone) and Asia Pacific Game Summit have been called off, and full refunds and retention for paid fees and deposits will be arranged. That said, the organizing committee will be planning an ‘Online Business Matching Event’ and ‘Taipei Game Show LIVE!’ event to showcase announcements and news, with more details soon to be available via the official website. Some games which were expected to feature in the show included an unannounced game from Sega and Mobile Suit Gundam Extreme VS. Maxiboost ON.
