Tetris 99 has added a Team Battle mode that has up to four teams fighting to be the last team standing, and the ability to get previous Maximus Cup themes.
The Tetris 99 Pokemon Sword and Shield theme assigns each of your 98 opponents one of the Pokemon you'll see in the Galar region and makes it look like it was "caught" in a Poke Ball when they are defeated.
On August 23, 2019, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will be able to spend the weekend unlocking a Tetris 99 Fire Emblem: Three Houses theme. This is the third special theme so far.
The latest Tetris 99 Maximus Cup will be Splatoon-themed in honor of Splatoon 2’s Final Splatfest, and Nintendo has shown off the new theme for the game that comes with some very nostalgic music.
This week, Nintendo revealed via their official website that Tetris 99 will be getting its 2nd DLC pack sometime within this year. Both DLC packs are currently purchasable together as the Big Block DLC.
