Whalenought Studios has released an alpha preview video for its upcoming cyberpunk, “cybertactical” party-based RPG Copper Dreams.
It shows that Copper Dreams will be using a similar set-up and systems to Whalenought’s previous RPG Serpent in the Staglands – however, Whalenought has said that Copper Dreams will have new mechanics.
The major difference is the setting of Copper Dreams, which is a lawless island called Calitana where people are sent to deal with the overcrowding of the planet. The buildings are tall skyscrapers that home hundreds and that you’ll be able to traverse using grapple hooks.
Preparing for the game’s turn-based and time-based battles, you’ll be able to give them cybernetic enhancements using copper – the island’s cheapest material – giving them cloaking rigs and chainsaw arms, plus much more.
The plan is to bring Copper Dreams to Kickstarter with a playable demo soon. You can find out more about in Siliconera’s previous post and the game’s website.
