From February 17-20, 2023, there will be higher rates of Garchomp and Sylveon in Tera Raid Battles in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Like other limited time Raid Pokemon, Garchomps and Sylveons that appear during this period will have a wider variety of Tera types than normal. Unlike the Valentine’s Day Tera Raid Battle event Pokemon (Tandemaus), both Garchomp and Sylveon have been available in the series for a few generations now. Garchomp is a combination Dragon/Ground type that has been the cornerstone of many meta teams in competitive Pokemon battles. As for Sylveon, it debuted in XY along with the Fairy type as the Fairy Eevee evolution.
If you challenge 5-star raids, you might be able to get Hidden Abilities for your Garchomp and Sylveon. Sylveon’s Pixilate will increase Normal moves’ damage by 20%, as well as turn them into the Fairy type. So a Sylveon with Pixilate can use moves like Swift with more effectiveness, as well as enjoy STAB. As for Rough Skin, it causes attackers to take damage whenever they make direct contact with Garchomp. It is unknown if there will be an increased chance of getting Shiny Pokemon during theses raids.
The Garchomp and Sylveon Tera Raid Battles will run from February 17-20, 2023 in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Both Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are readily available on the Nintendo Switch.
