The Patch Ver 1.04, which focuses on various fixes and adjustments, is currently available in Japan for the PS4 version of Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris. According to Bandai Namco, the North American and European PS4 versions as well as all regions of the Xbox One and Steam versions (including Japan), will get Patch Ver 1.04 on August 12, 2020. It is also worth noting that those who are playing on different update versions will not be able to match for multiplayer.
The update has various adjustments and fixes relating to systems, UI, connectivity, and graphics. However, the focus of the patch is to mostly improve various performance aspects to enhance the overall experience. The camera work has also been adjusted to make it overall easier to play. The patch also improves overall loading time and framerates. The developers worked on having the PS4 and Xbox One versions run at a stable 30fps with this patch.
Furthermore, Bandai Namco noted that the team will continue working on loading times, framerates, auto-save, camera adjustments, mouse & keyboard settings. More specifically, we can expect more work on shortening loading times, FPS improvements, and overall improved usability in Patch Ver 1.05 and beyond.
