The protagonist of The Inner Darkness finds himself lost in a strange, lonely world, but able to switch between light and dark dimensions. Using the two, he’ll need to find a way to escape before finding out he isn’t as alone as he previously thought.
Players will awaken with a terrible stomach wound, one that will leave them weak and vulnerable in a surreal world. They will have to make their way through this place, solving puzzles to keep going forward as they look for a way to escape and get help, possibly figuring out how they got here in the process.
Escaping The Inner Darkness is not just a matter of walking forward. Players are able to shift between dimensions, traveling from a happy place to an unsettling dark world, using the differences and connections between dimensions to complete complex tasks. Players will want to take care while moving through worlds, though, as supernatural forces will dog them in some of these worlds.
The Inner Darkness is short, with a focus on story, and is available now on Steam.
