In honor of the eighth anniversary of Super Meat Boy, a formerly Nintendo Switch-exclusive feature will be coming to the PC version of the game. The Team Meat Twitter account revealed that a Super Meat Boy Race Mode update will arrive on October 25, 2018.

In Super Meat Boy Race Mode, two people can enjoy split-screen multiplayer. You can choose to challenge another person in Normal or Random Race Mode and go through the game. Normal Mode lets you choose specific levels or areas of the game and if the Race Type includes Light or Dark Levels. Picking Random Mode sends you through randomized levels. The initial announcement did not note if it will be local-only or if online functionality will be included. However, the Nintendo Switch Race Mode was only playable offline.

Super Meat Boy is available for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii U, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and PC.
