Warriors from mythology and history come together to fight in ranged battles against one another in Strikers Edge, a multiplayer game about hucking deadly weapons at one another.
Players can choose from several different warriors, from the spear-hurling Valkyrie to the shield-throwing Spartan, with each of their weapons offering various properties. Some weapons may bounce around the ring, while others can temporarily chop up terrain, making passage difficult. Once chosen, players will fight across four different arenas, each offering different mechanics that can add cover or various challenges to a match.
Players can choose to battle one-on-one, two-on-one, or two-on-two, whittling down their opponents’ health to become the victor. These matches are able to be fought cross-platform between PS4 and PC as well, allowing players to play it on whatever they wish. That doesn’t mean that players have to play against a friend or online, though, as each character will have a playable story mode that players can tackle alone.
Players who choose to stream Strikers Edge can also draw their viewers into the game to some degree, with Twitch Chat Modifiers allowing players to assist their favorite streamers with certain words in the chat. Their fans will also show up as supporters in game, with Twitch Crowd putting viewers in the game as an audience.
Strikers Edge’s developer says that a release date is imminent, but is unannounced as of yet.
