Console version Street Fighter X Tekken DLC updates are scheduled to kick off next month, and Capcom say they plan to release updates regularly to keep the game feeling fresh all through the year. Some of this DLC is free, while some of it will need to be paid for. Here’s a basic breakdown of what’s what:
Free DLC:
Nine new gem packs for a total of 60+ new gems
Replay analyzer
Tournament support for gem selection
Three new quick combo pre-sets
Three additional gem loadout slots
Three new colour packs with four colours each
Paid DLC:
Swap Costumes – $1.00 (80 MSP) each or in two $13.00 (1040 MSP) Street Fighter and/or Tekken packs
DLC characters – $20.00 (1600 MSP) for all 12 new fighters
In case you’re wondering what “Swap Costumes” are, they’re alternate costumes that dress Street Fighter characters as Tekken ones, and vice-versa. We’ve seen examples of this before, with Chun Li dressed as Panda, and Kuma dressed as R. Mika. These will be available starting April 3rd, and a few weeks later, Capcom will release a “tournament support” update, which consists of all the free DLC detailed above.
The twelve new fighters, as previously reported, will be included with the PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken when it launches this fall. They will be made available as DLC “shortly after” the Vita version’s release. From the Street Fighter side, we’ll get: Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka. Newcomers from the Tekken side will include: Alisa, Christy, Jack, Bryan, Lars and Lei.
Capcom also say that the development team is currently working to patch infinite combos that are showing up in YouTube videos.
