Capcom have announced Street Fighter X Mega Man, a free download title for PC, which will be made available on Capcom-Unity, as part of Mega Man’s 25th anniversary celebration. Check out a trailer for it below:
The 8-bit game features Mega Man as the protagonist, with retro-ized versions of Street Fighter characters serving as the eight Robot Masters. Just like regular Mega Man games, you’ll be able to beat them to acquire their powers.
Interestingly, Street Fighter X Mega Man is a collaboration between Capcom and fans. A Singaporean fan named Seow Zong Hui approached Capcom USA VP, Christian Svensson, with a prototype of Street Fighter X Mega Man at the EVO 2012 fighting game tournament, and then the game went into official development.
Street Fighter X Mega Man will be released on December 17th as a free PC download. The game’s music is composed by A_Rival, a hip-hop/electronic rapper and producer who himself adores videogames.
