A live-action Street Fighter series that will explore the origins of protagonist, Ryu and Ken, is in development, Street Fighter executive producer, Yoshinori Ono, revealed at Comic-Con.
Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist will be released worldwide in 2013, and is being led by Joey Ansah—who worked on the Street Fighter: Legacy web film—in collaboration with Capcom, according to a Variety report.
The name for the series comes from "Ansatsuken" (which means Assassin’s Fist), the name of the fighting style Ryu and Ken train in. The two are unknowingly the last practitioners of the art and the series will follow them as they discover the past of their master, Gouken, and the tragic legacy of the Ansatsuken style.
"Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist will be what fans have been waiting for," Ansah said about his new series. "Legacy was a taster; a glimpse of what a live-action ‘Street Fighter’ should be."
