Street Fighter 6 World Tour Mode Has a Full Game’s Worth of Content

Street Fighter 6 World Tour Mode

In an interview with IGN, Capcom Director Takayuki Nakayama and Street Fighter 6 Producer Shuhei Matsumoto shared more information about what players can expect in the next iteration in the franchise. This included elaboration on the World Tour Mode that will appear in Street Fighter 6. Essentially, that mode alone would be big enough to be its own game. [Thanks, IGN!]

This is what Director Nakayama had to say about the World Tour Mode in Street Fighter 6:

World Tour Mode isn’t a bonus mode at all. In fact, it has about as much content as a single game, and we really put a lot of effort into it. So with the Fighting Ground, Battle Hub, and World Tour mode it’s like a game that has three titles bundled into one. It’s been a lot of work for the producers!

The developers also mentioned that the first stage of the World Tour Mode will take place in Metro City, a location that appeared in Final Fight. Information about other stages will appear in future updates about Street Fighter 6, according to Director Nakayama.

While Luke may appear to be the protagonist of Street Fighter 6, players will take that role in the title’s World Tour Mode. People will be able to “carve out their own legend” according to the official website. Nakayama did not confirm that major characters from Street Fighter will appear in this game mode. That said, more information detailing the mode will be announced in the future.

Street Fighter 6 is in development for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. It will launch in 2023.
