StarMade Is, Essentially, Minecraft In Space

Recommended Videos

StarMade is a voxel-based sandbox that gives you the infinite expanses of outer space to build, craft, and venture. Yes, there’s no way around it, this is essentially Minecraft in space.

It’s not long been released on Steam Early Access where you can purchase it for $9.99 on Windows, Mac, and Linux. But it has been playable in its early stages before Early Access for quite a while. It’s actually been in the making since 2010.

In StarMade, you can build your own spaceship block-by-block, customizing it with weapons fit to take on space pirates – you’ll need them. Once satisfied, you can then get into your spaceship in order to explore distant stars and galaxies.

You’ll come across more than pirates too, as there are abandoned space stations to pick from, and the treasures you find inside can be traded to make a fortune. Or, you can use the materials to make your own space station, or a factory, all in order to make huge quantities of sellable items for a profit.

In multiplayer you’ll be able to find other factions, which you can join or fight against, and I’m sure you’ll be glad to hear that StarMade has dedicated servers.

The idea behind StarMade is to provide you an infinite space to make your own way within. As in Minecraft, you do as you please, exploring the various possibilities of the game’s intricate sandbox design. Check out its official website for more information.
