Stardew Valley developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone recently gave an update on the announced multiplayer functionality, talking about the state of development, as well as showing off the new ‘signs’ functionality.

According to Barone, the multiplayer feature is done, with thanks given to Tom Coxon from Chucklefish for doing the network coding. After the text is fully translated into different languages, and bug fixes are completed, the QA phase will begin for multiplayer and singleplayer.

Barone is also still planning on a beta test for the multiplayer in Spring 2018. More details on the details and features will be revealed around the time the beta begins.

Finally, new signs were shown off in the above screenshot. They will be available to craft from the beginning of the game, and it can display any item in the game but clicking the item onto the sign.

Stardew Valley is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It is in development for the PlayStation Vita, though that version will not receive the multiplayer update that also adds new content.
