A day after teasing people about things to come in Stardew Valley 1.5, the PC update is already available. Eric “Concerned Ape” Barone announced the patch’s debut on Twitter. Both truncated and detailed patch notes were shared, since this update does involve a lot of post-game content.
Concerned Ape already announced some of the more major, spoiler-free additions. One is split screen local co-op. Previously, you’d have to go with people online. You have new hairstyles for farmers. There are also new advanced game options, like remixed community bundles, and an ability to have a beach farm when you start the game. Barone offered a fuller look at the new map on Twitter once the patch launched.
Editor’s Note: The next paragraph will contain Stardew Valley 1.5 PC update spoilers.
As for the new content, there’s a whole new location in Stardew Valley. Once you update the game, you can unlock the Fern Islands’ Ginger Islands. You can open up a resort, which people from the village will visit, you’ll meet a new person named Leo, you can head into Ginger Island’s volcano dungeon to face new enemies and get new items, and you can meet Birdie, Gourmand Frog, and Professor Snail. People who prefer to stay at home will be able to take Special Orders, visit more difficult dungeons, grow new crops, make new items, and even change your name or gender.
Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices. (However, the PlayStation Vita version no longer receives new updates.) The Stardew Valley 1.5 PC update is immediately available, and it will appear on other platforms at a later date.
