Stalk the Unusual Hilichurl in the Genshin Impact Mimi Tomo Event

Genshin Impact Unusual Hilichurl

One of the most enigmatic creatures in Genshin Impact is the Unusual Hilichurl, but players may find more about the eccentric monster during Mimi Tomo. It is a new event scheduled to go live on May 27, 2021. Travelers will be challenged to track down the beast all over the game world.

Players will need to scout out locations in the open world with the assistance of Mondstadt’s resident Hilichurl Expert, Ella Musk. Musk will give them clues as to the location of friendly Hilichurls. Finding those Hilichurls will unlock where the Unusual Hilichurl is in Genshin Impact in Mimi Tomo. Finding and defeating it will net them rewards.

The Unusual Hilichurl is a unique, non-agressive monster. Only two can be found at any given time in a player’s game session. Its spawn location is selected at random from sixteen locations across Teyvat.

Appearance-wise, it’s not much different from the ubiquitous normal Hilichurl enemies, but it wears a distinctive mask. The Unusual Hilichurl is a reference to Da Wei, a character based on Liu Wei, the founder and director of Genshin Impact developer miHoYo. When attacked, the Unusual Hilichurl fights back with its wooden briefcase by throwing cabbages, primogems, and even Homu dolls (toys that reference Honkai Impact 3rd).

The Genshin Impact Mimi Tomo event will run from May 27, 2021 until June 6, 2021. Its closing quest “The Lost Hilichurl” will unlock on June 6, 2021 and be available until June 8, 2021. Genshin Impact is available on the PS4, PS5, PC, PS4, iOS and Android platforms. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.
