The location under construction is in front of a rustic castle set in the world of Scala Ad Caelum, which was introduced in Kingdom Hearts 3. The official Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link social media account also updated its banner to feature a brand new image of Scala Ad Caelum set at night time with a shooting star in the night sky.

Information on the game was last shared in January 2023 when Square Enix highlighted details about the gameplay and character customization features present in the mobile game during its prototype test in Japan.

During the prototype test in January, series director Tetsuya Nomura indicated that the test version only featured roughly 70% of the gameplay features and 50% of the UI elements that will appear in the game. Also, none of the story content in the prototype test was intended to appear in the final version of the mobile game.

Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link is currently in development for Android and iOS devices.
