Square Enix often shares details about Final Fantasy VII and its world on the Japanese Twitter account, and the latest tells how Aerith is able to grow flowers in Midgar. Even though she lives below the plates, she has access to a clean water source, Because of this, and the concentration of the lifestream energy within it, she’s able to maintain a garden.
Here’s the official announcement, complete with pictures of Aerith’s flower garden at her home in the Sector 5 slums in Midgar from Final Fantasy VII Remake. The water seen from the waterfall and pond are coming from that clean water source. The abandoned church in Sector 5 also has access to it. Aerith then uses that to take care of all her plants.
プレートの下に植物があまりない中でエアリスの家の周りに植物が沢山あるのは、地下からのライフストリーム成分が多く含まれたきれいな水がわいているからなんですよ!⛲️✨
