Back when Square Enix introduced their Square Enix Collective crowdfunding program for indie developers, the game that made the most waves was World War Machine, an action RPG set in a world where humans are extinct.
This game has now made it to the crowdfunding phase, and is taking contributions on IndieGoGo. It has you playing as a mech-like unit—called “Machines” in the game—that you can upgrade with new weapons and materials that you collect from enemies. A prototype gameplay trailer for the game can be viewed above.
World War Machine lets you play solo or co-op with other players. The game uses the W-A-S-D keys for movement and the mouse for aiming and using your spells.
Developer Tuque Games are building World War Machine for PC. The game doesn’t have a release window yet, but following its campaign, a beta version of the game will be made available for backers. Tuque are hoping to raise $50,000 in funding.
