Square Enix has released a new developer diary for Mobius Final Fantasy. This one is on long-time character designer, Toshiyuki Itahana. Itahana has been working for Square Enix many years and has designed characters for games like Final Fantasy IX and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII.
“Final Fantasy titles always demand that we push beyond our comfort zone so I tried to draw what I think a fantasy world ‘super hero’ would wear without being beholden to the worlds of previous Final Fantasy games,” Itahana says when discussing designing Final Fantasy characters.
Itahana also explains why he became an artist, what made him join Square, and what it was like working in the toy industry prior.
