Square Enix Are Working On Imaginary Range 2

Recommended Videos

Back in May, Square Enix released a new project – a “Game x Comic” – on iTunes, titled Imaginary Range. The project was overseen by Final Fantasy XIII director, Motomu Toriyama, and produced by Shinji Hashimoto. The story was penned by Root Double: Before Crime * After Days writer, Souki Tsukishima.

The reason Imaginary Range is called a “game x comic” is that, as you read the comic, you can find hidden items within its panels, or come across minigames that you have to clear in order to progress through the story. You can find examples of this here.

Square Enix are now working on Imaginary Range 2. While they haven’t announced the game’s release date yet, they say it isn’t far off. After you complete the story the first time, you’ll unlock extra comic commentary and be able to access the different game portions separately. All images in this post are from Imaginary Range 2.

Artwork for the first game was handled by Toshiyuki Itahana, character designer for the Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles series. The original Imaginary Range is available as a free download on iTunes and the Android marketplace.
