Jelonzo returns from the first Splatoon on the Wii U, resuming his role as the merchant for shirts and similar upper body clothing. According to Nintendo, he has brushed up on his language skills, as now he can speak Octoling as well as Inkling, a reference to how Octolings are now playable characters who can interact with him.

Meanwhile, Fred Crumbs is a new addition manning the shoe store. He replaces the original shoe store owner Crusty Sean, who has been busy traveling the world in the official Nintendo mobile app. As spotted by fans, Fred Crumbs takes on the appearance of a deep fried mackerel dish, something Nintendo have said he did to himself while taking a job posting literally.

These two will be joining the previously revealed Splatoon 3 DLC characters, Annie, Moe, Shelly and Donny, rounding out the four main shops for new clothing items.

Splatoon 3 is now available on Nintendo Switch, and the DLC will be launching sometime in spring 2023.
