Back during E3 2006, Sony announced Afrika, a safari simulation for Playstation 3. While not much information was divulged about the game in the following months, Afrika was eventually revealed as a game where players would take on the role of a photo journalist.

Afrika was initially a Japan / Asia exclusive. Eventually, the game was published in North America by Natsume.

One of Afrika’s features is that the game allows you to share photos you’ve taken in the game online. Come August 31st, if you live in Japan, you may not be able to do that anymore, as SCEJ recently announced they will be shutting down the game’s servers on that date. The announcement points out, though, that the offline game will remain unaffected.
