Sonic X, No Game No Life, The Witcher Series, And More Coming To Netflix In December 2019

Netflix in December 2019 adds the first two seasons of the 2003 Sonic the Hedgehog anime, Sonic X, along with No Game No Life, The Witcher’s live action series, and The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened.

Sonic X – December 1

Sonic X joins the mix starting December 1, 2019. The anime series was produced by TMS Entertainment and directed by Hajime Kamegaki, it originally aired 52 episodes on TV Tokyo from April 2003 to March 2004. An extra 26 episodes aired in other parts of the world from 2005 to 2006, but Netflix will only get the first 52 episodes as part of Seasons 1 and 2.

In Sonic X, Sonic finds himself teleported to Earth where he befriends a human boy named Chris Thorndyke who joins him and his friends and their repeated scuffles with Doctor Eggman and his robots.

No Game No Life – December 1

Next, No Game No Life already made its debut in Germany but it’ll kick things off on Netflix US starting December 1, 2019. The series follows two hikikomori step-siblings Sora and Shiro, known in the online gaming world as an undefeated group called “___” (Blank). One day the two are challenged to a game of chess by a god from another reality, which they proceed to win and are offered to live in a world that centers around games. The anime is currently available on Crunchyroll.

The Witcher (Season 1) December 20

Netflix’s highly anticipated live-action Witcher series starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia  starts on December 20, 2019. The story of the series will follow the mutated monster hunter Geralt, who struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened  – December 30

Lastly, we’ll have The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened as a limited series starting December 30, 2019. It’s a Netflix original six-episode series of Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan. The story follows Kusuo and his gaggle of self-proclaimed friends who are back for more psychic mishaps.
