Sonic & All-Stars Racing Zooms To Smartphones, Along With New Rhythm Thief

Sega are bringing a couple of their games over to smartphones this winter, starting with Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, their stylish crossover racer that released on PC and consoles a few months ago.

The iOS and Android version of the game will feature both local and online multiplayer races for up to 4 players, and will also include “social integration” of some sort.

Also headed to iOS and Android is a “remastered” version of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Sega say the game will feature “upgraded visuals” along with remastered audio, and will run at 60 frames-per-second. Existing iOS owners of the game will get this version of Sonic 2 as a free update. For Android device users, this will be the first release of the game.

Finally, Sega are developing another Rhythm Thief title, Rhythm Thief & the Paris Capter. This is inspired by the Nintendo 3DS title, Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure, and will be available in early 2014.
