Songbringer’s Beta Arrives On The 30th Anniversary Of The Legend of Zelda

Wizard Fu Games has announced the beta date for its Zelda-inspired action-adventure RPG, Songbringer. It’s to be February 21st 2016.

This date was chosen specifically as it marks the 30th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda – it came out on February 21st 1986.

What Songbringer is said to take from the Zelda games is its puzzling, combat, and style of exploration. What it does quite differently, however, is take place across procedurally generated worlds – 308 million of them, apparently (each with nine dungeons to explore).

It also blends its fantasy with touches of sci-fi. You play as Roq Epimetheos, who travels across the galaxy with his skybot Jib aboard the ship Songbringer. The adventure really begins, though, when Roq finds the nanosword and, in doing so, awakens an ancient evil.

Songbringer already has a Steam page and is supposed to be coming out later this year.
