Song Summoner is an iPod strategy RPG game

Remember when Square Enix trademarked Song Summoner? I never thought they would step into iPod development, but here we are with Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes. The existing songs on your MP3 player transform into Tune Troopers controlled by Ziggy, a protagonist fighting against emotionless Mechanoids. Ziggy is a Song Summoner, a conductor who summons warriors from music.

The abilities and classes of Tune Troopers are determined by the song. I wonder if Square Enix has secret Tune Troopers that can only be unlocked from music purchased over iTunes. Tune Troopers also power up by listening to the songs used to create them. Very clever. Otherwise Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes looks like a lighthearted strategy RPG controlled with the click wheel for a mere $4.99.

Take a look at some screenshots of Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes until it comes out on iTunes as a download tomorrow.

Update: Jeriaska mentions  Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes is ready now if you have an iPod nano with video, iPod classic or fifth generation iPod.
