Chinese publisher Bilibili announced today that their smartphone slow life sim Komori Life will be launching in Japan in Summer 2020. The game is a free-to-play title that focuses on single-player exploration and growth, and you can play as a variety of avatars and take in the rustic country environment at your own pace. The game is developed by Shanghai Zorro Network Technology and launched earlier in China, Taiwan, and HK in January 2020. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

The game has some serious Boku no Natsuyasumi vibes and details the protagonist’s return to their grandmother’s countryside home, where they grew up. Tired with city life, the protagonist decides to try and reconnect with the people they met here, farm, fish, and experience an idyllic life.

Gameplay-wise, at first glance the game’s UI and graphics are reminiscent of a smartphone MMO, and indeed some of the mechanics play similarly on the surface. However, the game is mainly focused on exploration, growing things, helping other villagers out, and restoring your deceased grandmother’s old house.
