Slain!, An Homage To ’80s and ’90s Hack-And-Slash Games, Headed To PS4

Wolf Brew Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its gory homage to the hack ‘n’ slash games of the ‘80s and ‘90s that it calls Slain!. It’s also up on Steam Greenlight.

The team is looking for $12,000 to fund the next three months of development that will see Slain! finished for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Wolf Brew was actually gauging interest in PlayStation versions of the game and only recently— during the Kickstarter—confirmed it would come to PS4. The PlayStation Vita version is still up in the air, but if there’s enough interest and it’s viable, then Wolf Brew will arrange for that port to happen as well, and with cross-buy in place too.

Slain! has you playing as Bathoryn as he slashes his sword, casts magic, and throws bombs to make his way across a gothic land controlled by seven towers. He has to climb up each of them and slay the spirit inside. There are traps, ghouls, demons, and great wolves to defeat along the way, all of which threaten to turn Bathoryn into a gloopy red paste.

You can find out more about Slain! reading Siliconera’s interview with its lead designer Andrew Gilmour. A PC copy of Slain! can be yours in exchange for $10 on the Kickstarter. But if you pay $25 you can get a PC version and a copy of the game on PS4.
