Silver Wolf in Honkai: Star Rail Facilitates Mono-Element Teams

Silver Wolf in Honkai: Star Rail fills two particular niches depending on how you build her. She can be a decent sub-DPS with her single target Ultimate. However, her Skill and its ability to apply a Weakness onto an enemy is her true bread and butter. For that reason, it’s easier to build a party around taking advantage of Silver Wolf than it is to shove Silver Wolf into an existing team. Here are some teams that you can consider for Silver Wolf in Honkai: Star Rail.

For starters, Silver Wolf is key to creating mono-element teams. With her ability to apply a Weakness, a party with Silver Wolf can destroy any enemy line-up without needing to switch characters in and out. If you want to focus on Silver Wolf’s Skill, then the less elements you have in a team, the better. Here are some examples of what you can use:

  • Yanqing, Pela, Silver Wolf, Gepard/March 7th
In this composition, all of the characters except Silver Wolf are Ice. If the enemies are already weak to Quantum, you can guarantee applying an Ice Weakness. Pela is a great support to bring with Silver Wolf because both of them can shred DEF and Yanqing is one of the better single-target DPS in the game. This is a team that is good for bosses such as Kafka.
  • Jing Yuan/Serval, Tingyun, Silver Wolf, Bailu
This is a composition that works best on an enemy line-up without an existing Lightning weakness. You can substitute Jing Yuan or Serval depending on who you have. The reason you want to focus on homogenizing your element is, again, to guarantee Silver Wolf can apply the right element to Break. Both Jing Yuan and Serval are AoE DPS, making this a good line-up in places like Caverns of Corrosion or against bosses like the Doomsday Beast.

You can also take advantage of the Silver Wolf and Pela combo of debuffing enemies. Silver Wolf’s Talent and Ultimate can decrease a target enemy’s DEF. Both of these are up to RNG. Pela can remove buffs as well as lower DEF with her Ultimate. With this in mind (as well as taking into consideration Silver Wolf’s Skill), you can run them together in a hyper carry team. For example:

  • DPS, Silver Wolf, Pela, Abundance/Preservation
This is essentially the mono-element Ice party above. But if you don’t mind gambling a bit more with Silver Wolf’s Weakness application (or you’re able to match all the Weaknesses of a line-up), this is a great way to quickly deplete an enemy’s HP. Even a DPS who’s not fully built can reach some pretty impressive numbers. The downside is that there is an element of randomness in Silver Wolf’s ability to inflict DEF shred, which is not ideal in a hyper carry comp.

Finally, you can use Silver Wolf as a Quantum support in a Quantum-focused hyper carry. The F2P version of this would use Qingque, while the ideal version of it uses Seele as the DPS. It would look like this:

  • Seele/Qingque, Silver Wolf, Tingyun, Bailu
All of Silver Wolf and Tingyun’s actions are to maximize how much damage your Quantum DPS will deal. This is actually very similar to the above Lightning mono-element team and follows almost the same logic. Both the Lightning and Quantum teams with Silver Wolf have pretty good DoT due to their elements. Which one you should use really depends on which characters you have.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available for the Windows PC and mobile devices. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
