How do you fancy a little musical treat? The game’s retro-flavored 16-bit and 32-bit-style soundtrack was composed by Andrew “zircon” Aversa. He has previously composed for Soulcalibur V, Monkey Island 2 SE, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

The soundtrack is nearly two hours long and Aversa says that it is mostly inspired by Hitoshi Sakimoto’s music for Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII.

“The biggest inspiration was without a doubt Hitoshi Sakimoto, whose complex harmonic sense heavily influenced a lot of the Dungeonmans soundtrack. I also deliberately chose a sound set that closely emulates the sound modules used back then, which really adds a certain magic to the whole thing.”

Some of the music from the soundtrack have also been remixed, including an 8-bit demake of the town and boss themes by chiptune artist Inverse Phase, and game composer Joshua Morse’s “funky” remix of the cavern theme.

As to Dungeonmans, the game itself, it is a randomly generated adventure with over 75 unique player abilities, over 50 enemies, six classes that you can mix and match, and 12 different style of dungeon for you battle your way to a permadeath inside.

You can purchase Dungeonmans on Steam for $14.99. There’s also a Champion Edition of the game for $19.99 that includes the soundtrack, and art book, and game guide. The soundtrack by itself is available for $6.99 on the Overclocked Records website.
