Yacht Club Games has announced a number of changes to the upcoming retail release of Shovel Knight.

First off, the release date has been pushed back due to wanting to ensure that the ”Plague of Shadows” expansion being included on the discs and cartridges out of the box. That means the retail release won’t be until November 3rd in North America and October 30th in Europe.

Secondly, the price of the retail version has been increased from $19.99 to $24.99. This was due to some retailers having limited space and so, to ensure that Shovel Knight wasn’t thrown into the bargain bin, the price increase was necessary. But it’s not all bad as now all physical versions of the game will come with a free digital soundtrack download.

Finally, the Xbox One retail version of Shovel Knight has been cancelled. This was due to publishing polices on the platform that inhibited it from happening. Still, Yacht Club says it’ll be fighting to make it happen.

Oh, and we haven’t finished yet – Yacht Club says it’s also trying to get a retail release for the PlayStation Vita version of the game. And a North American release date for the Shovel Knight amiibo is still being worked out. However, Yacht Club may open up pre-orders for it soon.
