Should You Side With Leanan Sidhe or Apsaras in SMT V Vengeance?

Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance contains essentially all of the base game’s content all wrapped up into one. As you go about your time exploring Da’at, there are plenty of side quests to do, including ones where you side with a certain party. In this vein, should you side with Leanan Sidhe or Apsaras in SMT V Vengeance?

The Spirit of Love Guide: Should You Side With Apsaras in SMT V?

The Apsaras and Leanan Sidhe side quest is the first of its kind in the game, where you pick a side. Each one has its own rewards, fight, and storyline. The Spirit of Love has to do with siding with Apsaras. She claims Leanan Sidhe is seducing her followers and wants you to take her out.

If you do this, you will get two Health Incenses and Apsaras to join your party. In addition, this affects your alignment of order versus chaos. This is far more important in Canon of Vengeance than the base game, in my opinion, so pick carefully. If you want more of the order side or just want Apsaras on your team, pick her side.

Should You Side With Leanan Sidhe in SMT V Vengeance?

On the other hand, when you speak with Leanan Sidhe, you will have the chance to do the side quest The Water Nymph. This quest has you do the opposite of the original and side with Leanan Sidhe instead of Apsaras in SMT V Vengeance. If you do this, you’ll have to take out Apsaras, who Leanan Sidhe claims is taking advantage of poor, lowly demons.

If you side with Leanan Sidhe, you will get two Stamina Incenses. I wouldn’t let the incense decide your choice since they are pretty common. That said, Leanan Sidhe is on the chaos side, so it’s worth considering there. In general, I would also say Leanan Sidhe is the slightly more useful demon at this point, but you can fuse for both pretty early in the game. In the end, pick based on your preferences.

Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance is now available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
