What happens if you kill Jacob and Taylor in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC?

During the Phantom Liberty Lucretia My Reflection quest, you are taken by surprise when two strangers burst into your apartment. The game gives you a few seconds to decide whether you should kill the intruders or not. Unfortunately, you do not get any rewards if you kill Jacob and Taylor in the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC.

Although President Myers seems to believe this is the right course of action, there isn’t any benefit to taking out the intruders. Neither Jacob nor Taylor drops a Legendary or Iconic weapon either. So, only choose this option if you feel it’s in line with how your V would react. However, it should be warned that taking out the duo will lead to you missing out on some Phantom Liberty features that we will go over below.

What happens if you don’t kill Jacob and Taylor in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC?

If you decide to talk to the strangers in the Lucretia My Reflection quest, you will have a chance to negotiate with the intruders. Jacob and President Myers will come to an agreement and will shake hands on the deal. If you choose to spare Jacob and Taylor, they will become your companions in the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC.

While the feature isn’t super in-depth, Taylor and Jacob will now help you out against enemies in Phantom Liberty’s Dogtown. More importantly, Jacob will give you intel on the new Cyberpunk 2077 airdrop feature. After exiting your apartment, you can find Jacob smoking a cigarette outside. Once you speak to him, he will tip you off to your first airdrop, which will lead to some great rewards.

Should you kill Jacob and Taylor?

No, you should not kill them in the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC. There isn’t any benefit to taking out the intruders, and they are fun side characters that add to the expansion campaign. You not only get backup support in Dogtown, but their help with airdrops is pretty useful. If you have already killed off the duo, do not stress out! The Phantom Liberty companions aren’t important enough to reload an old save. They just aren’t worth killing if you still have the option to spare them.

Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty DLC are now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
