One of the most pivotal moments in the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC has to do with the fate of Songbird. As one of the three key characters in the expansion storyline, Songbird’s complicated fate determines what happens to the rest of the DLC and even the base game. As such, you want to choose wisely whether to let her live or die.

Should You Let Songbird Live in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty?

Note: Full spoilers ahead for the end of Phantom Liberty.

After you decide to spare Songbird or side with Reed in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, your choices can lead you to a mission known as ‘Somewhat Damaged.’ This particular storyline tasks you with choosing what to do with Songbird when you find her in the core at the end of the quest. Should you end her life or let her live?

This comes down to whether or not you want the brand-new ending in the base game and Phantom Liberty. If you want to see this ending, which concludes V and Johnny Silverhand’s storyline in a unique new way, then by all means, you should spare Songbird. This will result in Solomon Reed making sure you get the cure you went after in the first place.

On the other hand, if you don’t want the DLC conclusion and want to stick to the original endings in the base game, you should kill her. Personally, while I think the new ending is interesting, it is not my favorite. I even think the original game had better ending options. Because of this reason, I find it hard to recommend sparing her in the Phantom Liberty DLC. I suggest making a separate save here so you can come back and change your decision if you wish to.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
